The Girl from the Other Side: Siúil, a Rún by Nagabe
In a land far away, there were two kingdoms: the Outside, where twisted beasts roamed that could curse with a touch, and the Inside, where humans lived in safety and peace. The girl and the beast should never have met, but when they do, a quiet fairy tale begins. This is the story of two people -- one human, one inhuman -- who linger in the hazy twilight that separates night from day. (https://tinyurl.com/2bmtvr2r)
It wasn't life-changing like Firekeeper's Daughter, but thank goodness not every book is or I'd go nuts. It was, simply, an enjoyable read. I'll be keeping my eyes out for the second volume at my library.

I don't read a lot of graphic novels or manga, but the cover art for The Girl from the Other Side captured my attention from its place on the library shelf in an instant. It did not disappoint. Most of the book is in black and white and though my art preferences usually involve lots of bright colors, I loved it. The story was captivating (I read it in two sittings) and included some twists!

Happy reading!
