Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer, The Abduction, and The Accused by John Grishham
In the small city of Strattenburg, there are many lawyers, and though he's only
thirteen years old, Theo Boone thinks he's one of them. Theo knows every judge,
policeman, court clerk and a lot about the law. He dreams of a life in the
courtroom. But he finds himself in court much sooner than expected. Because he
knows so much - maybe too much. He is suddenly dragged into the middle of a
sensational murder trial. A cold-blooded killer is about to go free, and only
Theo knows the truth. The stakes are high, but Theo won't stop until justice is
served.

When we last saw Theo Boone, he ensured that justice was served by uncovering evidence that kept a guilty man off of the streets. Hot off this high-profile murder trial, thirteen-year-old Theo is still dispensing legal advice to friends and teachers. But just when it seems as if his life has calmed down and gone back to the status quo, a new legal mystery comes to town, and this time it's personal.

Theodore Boone is back! And he's ready for his next big case
Theo Boone might only be thirteen, but he's already uncovered key evidence in a groundbreaking murder trial and discovered the truth behind his best friend's abduction. Now with the latest unfolding of events in Strattenburg, Theo will face his biggest challenge yet.

Okey dokey, here's the thing. There is an awesome series of books called Theodore Boone by John Grisham. I'd review them one at a time, but, like many series, reviewing them all at once is easier and pretty much covers all the bases. When another one comes out (if another one comes out), I'll just do a new review.
So here's the gist of all three books:
You get the picture of who Theo is to the outside world just by reading the summaries for each book. But what about his home life? I have much to praise Theo for including his respectfulness towards his parents, adults, and teachers. He is kind and caring towards others.
His best friend, April, is a good friend to him as well. It is made clear that April and Theo are not a 'couple', just good friends.
Theo often goes to Animal Court to help people retrieve their pets from Animal Control.
In other John Grisham books, there is swearing and violence. In Theodore Boone there is neither. In the first book, a man murders his wife and it is described in detail. This might bother some readers, however, it does not affect me. :) The murder is not graphic so it is not such a big deal.
Like many stories, people lie, steal, and cheat. However, Theo rarely participates, and when he does there is great guilt on his part; he does apologize to his parents. Even when rules are broken, there is always a just cause.
Theo's uncle, Ike, is an ex-lawyer, after running into trouble with the law. It is rumored he drinks a great deal.
Of course, there are a lot of courtroom 'scenes' and the law details might be confusing to some readers (or is it just me?). Although they are always written clearly so that I pick up on most of the stuff so hopefully you will too. They even made me want to be a lawyer!!! (and that's saying a lot)
Anyhow, there isn't much left to say. It's really hard to find good wholesome books but you can always count on Theodore Boone! Run to your nearest bookstore or library and check him out immediately! Now! Go!
Happy reading!
